RECRUITERS NETWORKS
With the Internet making it as easy to find candidates around the world as it is around the corner, and fee-splitting becoming commonplace, it makes sense to link up with multiple recruiters networks. Here are some of them. For a more comprehensive version of this and many other useful resources, register for our course:
- 495-128 HR Collaborative is also affiliated with GTRN.
- Alliance of Medical Recruiters
- American Staffing Association - formerly the National Association of Temporary and Staffing Services, ASA's members are temp and perm staffing agencies.
- Arizona Technical Recruiters Association - Founded in Oct. 1996, ATRA is a non-profit group of corporate technical recruiters, contract recruiters and HR service providers focusing on technical recruitment in IS and engineering and affiliated with GTRN.
- Association of Employment Professionals - incorporated 2004, AOEP is what the Employment Management Association's founding New England chapter evolved into, breaking away from EMA after SHRM took firmer control of EMA.
- Association of Executive Search Consultants - AESC has about 125 member firms worldwide, placing senior-level candidates. (Also see National Association of Executive Recruiters below.)
- Association of Financial Search Consultants
- Association of Professional Recruiters of Canada - Associate membership has no pre-requisites, but full APRC membership requires successful completion of the Institute of Professional Management's Professional Recruiters accreditation program. (The Canadian Management Professionals Association, founded to establish standards of excellence for the management and supervision of physical, financial and human resources, is their sister organization.)
- Bay Area Recruiters list (BA Recruiter) - moderated list intended as a networking tool for San Francisco area recruiters. Members must be professionals working in the HR and Staffing Industry; 3rd party and in-house recruiters are welcome. (Also see related SF area resume feed list and SF area recruiter jobs list.)
- Boston Recruiters Group - Geared to corporate and 3rd party contract recruiters in greater Boston; about 1,000 subscribers on the listserv.
CA Recruit - California state recruiters list, intended for HR professionals to share resumes, discuss HR questions, and do splits / referrals for job and candidate postings
- California Staffing Professionals runs training courses throughout the state, among other activities
- Canadian Association of Assessment Specialists - CAAS establishes standards and practices for HR testing and assessment. Full membership requires successful completion of their training program.
- Canadian Technical Recruiters Network - Founded in late 1997, CTRN holds regular meetings in Toronto, with Ottawa and Montreal chapters planned for the future; affiliated with GTRN.
- Chicago EMA - One of the chapters of the SHRM-affiliated Employment Management Association (EMA) launched after 2004 when SHRM started putting more emphasis on staffing issues.
- Chicago Technical Recruiters' Network - Formed in 1986, TRN is a Chicago-based, not-for-profit organization. Membership consists of over 500 corporate technical recruiting professionals; affiliated with GTRN.
- City Splits - splits network for third-party recruiters. $250 initiation fee is refunded with first placement; other fees are per placement, not by time.
- Colorado Technical Recruiters' Network - Founded in 1994, this CTRN has over 350 recruiters as members. It hosts the TechConnect job fairs in summer and winter, and organizes a nationally known Annual Recruiting Conference; affiliated with GTRN.
- Dallas FortWorth (Texas) EMA - One of the chapters of the SHRM-affiliated Employment Management Association (EMA) launched after 2004 when SHRM started putting more emphasis on staffing issues.
- Delaware Valley Technical Recruiters Network - non-profit cooperative network of technical recruiting professionals in greater Philadelphia area; affiliated with GTRN.
- DFW Technical Recruiters Network - Founded 1999, meets monthly in the Dallas-Fort Worth, TX area; affiliated with GTRN.
- Electronic Recruiters Exchange (originally at ERExchange.com) - In the Internet recruiting niche, this is the granddaddy on the corporate recruiting side (though third party is a sizable minority), with very active forums and frequently-updated content emailed from their robust web site. Their member search (over 10,000 recruiters and related vendors) lets you target by various criteria.
- EMA of Greater Phoenix (Arizona) - One of the chapters of the SHRM-affiliated Employment Management Association (EMA) launched after 2004 when SHRM started putting more emphasis on staffing issues.
- EMA South Florida - One of the chapters of the SHRM-affiliated Employment Management Association (EMA) launched after 2004 when SHRM started putting more emphasis on staffing issues.
- EMA of Southern California - One of the chapters of the SHRM-affiliated Employment Management Association (EMA) launched after 2004 when SHRM started putting more emphasis on staffing issues.
- Employers Association, Inc. - A non-profit member organization founded in 1936, EA serves over 1,700 employers, primarily in the midwest U.S. EA is one of the largest sources of training, HR and management consulting, quality and productivity consulting, salary and policy surveys, and legislative and regulatory information.
- Global Technical Recruiters Network - GTRN was formed in 2000 by technical recruiters across the US to share best practices, ideas and success stories. They meet monthly via teleconference and have local affiliated TRNs across North America (link list is here and are also listed by location as separate bullets on this page).
- Greater Houston Recruiters Network - Formerly known as Houston High Tech Recruiters Network, it's arguably the biggest technical recruiters organization in Texas; affiliated with GTRN.
- HRExecNet - Founded as HREXA in 1990, HRExecNet is a Northern California association of senior-level HR folks with 3 chapters in San Francisco and 1 in Sacramento. Contact info for the Bay Area chapters.
- IHRCA, or the Independent Human Resource Consultants Association, is made up of recruiters in the greater Boston (MA/NH) area.
- Illinois Association of Personnel Services (also see Technical Recruiters Network below, for Chicago area).
- Illinois Recruiters Association (also has a Yahoo Group list).
- Inter-City Personnel Associates - network of hundreds of independently-owned staffing agencies who share job orders and resumes to split placement fees on a 50-50 basis (no commission charges by IPA).
- International Association of Corporate and Professional Recruitment - international group of senior level human resource executives, retained search professionals and consultants working on key issues in our field. Many major companies among their membership.
- Insurance National Search, Inc.
- Madison Recruiters Network - for Madison, WI area; affiliated with GTRN.
- Minnesota Technical Recruiters Network - Through networking, MNTRN provides mechanisms to control recruitment costs, principally in the IT arena; affiliated with GTRN.
- National Association of Executive Recruiters - Its members place senior-level candidates. (Also see Association of Executive Search Consultants above.)
- National Association of Legal Search Consultants - Like it sounds. (Also see National Insurance Recruiters Association below.)
- National Association of Physician Recruiters
- National Association of Personnel Services - Its members are permanent placement firms; see their state chapters list.
- National Association of Professional Employer Organizations - NAPEO oversees Professional Employer Organizations. PEOs aggregate the workforces of multiple companies and provide cost-effective solutions to the management and administration of the HR and employer risks of its clients. (The Employer Services Assurance Corporation, formerly the Institute for the Accreditation of Professional Employer Organizations, is NAPEO's international counterpart, to provide financial bond backing to PEOs.)
- National Insurance Recruiters Association - Like it sounds. (Also see Insurance National Search above.)
- National Personnel Associates
- New Jersey Metro EMA - Chartered in 2004, this chapter of the SHRM-affiliated Employment Management Association (EMA) gained new momentum in 2006 bringing some great names to speak/get involved, so worth a look.
- New Jersey Staffing Association - Formed in 2000 through NJSA's merger with the New Jersey Association of Temporary Services (NJATS), now comprising about 200 firms.
- New Jersey Technical Recruiters Alliance - affiliated with GTRN.
- New York Technical Recruiters' Association
- Northwest Recruiters Association - Founded spring 1997, it has over 150 members in the Puget Sound area of Washington state; affiliated with GTRN.
- Professional Electronic Entertainment Recruiters (PEER) - Formed in 2006, it's a trade association comprised of recruiters committed to better serving the interactive entertainment software industry.
- Recruiters Alliance - Limited to technical, sales and engineering; free. Focus on recruiting splits.
- Recruiters Cafe - a networking and split placement site for third-party recruiters and corporate hiring managers.
- Recruiter's Network - free enewsletter is useful; online lists of recruiting resources are a starter, but rarely updated. Membership is completely free and has a very active discussion list called RECNET along with a web-based forums area which have probably helped them reach their tens of thousands of registrants. (Both are also linked from here.)
- Recruiters and Sourcers Exchange - fairly large and active discussion list on recruiting/sourcing topics
- Recruiters Online Network - newsletters, among many other services; membership is $995.00/year. (free trial available). Among the largest associations of recruiters, executive search firms and employment agencies, with 8,000+ members.
- St. Louis EMA (Missouri) - One of the chapters of the SHRM-affiliated Employment Management Association (EMA) launched after 2004 when SHRM started putting more emphasis on staffing issues.
- SanFran Recruiter - discussion list with about 300 recruiters who share HR/Recruiting job leads, best practices, and local recruiting information
- Seattle Area Technical Recruiters Network - affiliated with GTRN; SATRN has its own member forum.
- Silicon Valley Technical Recruiters Network - affiliated with GTRN.
- Southeast Employment Network - Organized in Atlanta, GA, SEN is an organization of in-house recruiters and HR professionals; no employment agencies are members; affiliated with GTRN.
- SOCAL Recruiters - Networking group for recruiters based in Orange County, San Diego County, & Los Angeles County, founded summer 2004. Monthly breakfast in Irvine.
- South Florida Recruiters group
- Staffing Alliance of Maryland Employers/Project S.A.M.E. - The Staffing Alliance of Maryland Employers is an open forum for all Greater Washington DC area recruiters
- Southern California Technical Recruiters Network - affiliated with GTRN.
- Split It - Free to receive splits but pay $29 per candidate post. Over 1,200 members; part of ResumeBlaster.
- Staffing Alliance of Virginia Employers/Project S.A.V.E. - The Staffing Alliance of Virginia Employers is an open forum of corporate recruiters and employment representatives in the greater Washington DC area who meet periodically to discuss professional concerns, share recruiting needs, and exchange resumes of job seekers they wish to assist at no expense to either party; affiliated with GTRN.
- Top Echelon - founded in the late 1980s, it's one of the largest placement networks and features its own Big Biller software which includes ATS functionality for third-party staffing firms. Top Echelon has evolved to focus on Information Technology (IT), Engineering, and Manufacturing.
- Triangle Technical Recruiters Association - affiliated with GTRN.
- Wisconsin Technical Recruiters Network - Also known as Milwaukee Technical Recruiters Network (witrn.org), WITRN was founded in 1999; affiliated with GTRN.
Recruiter Directories - another set of free useful lists
- Headhunters Directory - they have ones for the USA, Canada and UK. Broken out by states / provinces / metro areas only.
- Oya's Directory of Recruiters - one of the first comprehensive directories by specialty as well as location
- RecruiterLink - the executive search directory compiled by Hunt-Scanlon
- Staffing Agencies by State (and City) - scroll down to Regional Articles menu near bottom of page to select your state. The results aren't that comprehensive, especially since it lists the same 5 national firms on each page, but if you look at the "Local companies" section, you'll get some, and if you scroll down to the very bottom of any state page, you'll see another Regional Articles menu that links to similar lists by city.
